I have been a maker for many years and have a passion for colour and pattern. I am drawn to colourful flowers, ethnic textiles, quilts and ceramics from around the world. Walks by the sea near my home in Lee-on-the-Solent and my garden are important parts of my everyday life. In turn, they provide ideas and sometimes even the material for my work.
For many years my main love was making embroidered textile hangings and I also enjoyed weaving and quilting. In recent years I have developed more mixed media work which includes collage, printing and stencilling. I now also paint in watercolour.
Over the years I have contributed to a number of group exhibitions. It has been lovely to sell my work to those who appreciate it.
I am a member of Fimbria, a creative textile group and local art groups. I value the company and friendship of like-minded creative makers and artists - there is always so much to learn from them.
